Despite it being December, North Cyprus is still relatively warm, with average daytime temperatures of around 17C. Days are generally sunny, with clear blue skies or sometimes some cloud for a little while. Occasionally there can be storms, but these are normally short lived, and occur mostly during the night, as the warm air rises. Night-time temperatures can drop to around 8C, but this is still much warmer than the UK.
It is not unheard of for people to still be wearing shorts and flip-flops on Christmas Day, and is normally warm enough to sit outside in the afternoon sun. Most local people are all wrapped up for the winter, as even 18C seems cold after the 40C hot summers, but for tourists who have come from the cold of the UK it is the perfect winter sun destination.
